  • “ Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, and bodies of water, light and shadows. Selects only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) with be authentic.
Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery-celebrate it if you feel like. In any case, remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from-it’s where you take them to.”

    Why not is the question?

Taken Over

Sometimes (okay, well a lot of times), this is how I feel living in here in this heat. Like I am being taken over by it and there is nothing I can do.

Happy 4th.

Merry Independence Day!

I got an assignment to go out and shoot an HDR for the cover of Las Vegas Magazine.  I totally lived out my mantra: “Fake It Till You Make It”  because I had NO idea what I was doing and how I as going to do it.  Well, I think it did not come out to darn shabby, if I say so myself. The first one was the cover, the next ones where just playing around.  It was the last night of the Sahara, so I headed down there and gave it a shot.   (These are all a combination of 6-9 frames)

B-29 Bomber

I was able to photograph and take a ride in the last operational Bomber in the world.  It is crazy to think that this is the same type of plane that dropped the bombs in WWII.   The instructions for the Bombardier’s are crazy!  Take a look at the third photo.

“FIFI”, the last B-29 Bomber, and the only operational Super Fortress in the world, made a stop at the Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport in Bullhead City, Arizona over the weekend during the Legends Over The Colorado Fly-In. The Boeing made planes first took flight in 1942 and carried the atomic bombs that destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki to lead to the end of WWII. The plane later to become “FIFI” was found in 1971 at a Navy weapons center near China Lake in the California Desert. It had been used for target practice and deteriorated due to heat, wind, and vandalism for over 17 years. The Commemorative Air Force restored the plane and has received permission from the Federal Aviation Administration to sell flight experiences aboard “FIFI”.

Train, David Cook, and Fefe Dobson all played this year’s Petapalooza.

Thee Michael Jefferey Jordan

So I have photographed my share of celebrities…but none can measure up to this guy.  I absolutely could not stand him growing up, but I would ALWAYS watch…he is the most incredible basketball player to ever play the game…and not too shabby of a golfer either.  It was pretty cool to be able to follow him around the course (me walking, him driving his custom North Carolina blue golf cart).

Earth Hour 2011-Las Vegas Strip

A view looking north (and south) down the Strip from atop the Tropicana during earth hour.  It good to know that the big wig casinos are doing their part. (A whole one hour all year:)
